The Universal Declaration on Archives adopted by the Annual General Meeting in Oslo!

Adopted in principle last year, at the ICA Annual General Meeting in Malta, the Universal Declaration on Archives has now officially become one of the core pillars in ICA's advocacy policy.

Evaluation allows participants' opinions to be gathered and connected with organisers' assessments and CITRA content.

These opinions allow the organisers to measure delegate satisfaction, to fill gaps, to correct errors, and allow them the possibility of making significant changes in planning and delivering the event in future.

ICA’s members throughout the world will be immensely saddened to learn of the death of Jean-Pierre Wallot, the former National Archivist of Canada, on 30 August.

On the occasion of a workshop organized by the French Ministry of Culture, Jean-Wilfrid Bertrand visited the ICA Secretariat on 28 July 2010. A meeting was held in the presence of Gerard Ermisse and Pascal Even (Service interministériel des Archives de France), David Leitch, Christine Martinez and Christophe Jacobs (ICA Secretariat).


In Memoriam Patrick CADELL (1941-2010)

Patrick Cadell's death, at the comparatively young age of sixty-nine, has deprived the archival community of one of its most persuasive advocates. He was one of the true gentlemen of the profession, and he will be remembered with great affection for his exquisite good manners He had a natural disposition to be hospitable, and was capable of great generosity.
